I actually have seen a few of these that seem legitimate, but they are typically for lower pets like ultras. Many people will go over to pay them, and when they are happy with the amount of money they got, they will leave the game.Īn example: "WHOEVER PAYS ME 1000 WINS NFR PARROT!!!" Or in the case of an auction scam, "WHOEVER BUYS THE MOST LEMONADE WINS BAT DRAGON!!!" They will say they are selling the pet for a certain amount of money, or that they are auctioning it to the person who pays the most. In these scams the scammer will have a hotdog or lemonade stand, and a good pet or item out. Never trust anybody with your items unless its somebody that you know well and trust.Īuction scams are pretty unique among scams, because these scams aren't for pets, but for amc. These scams are pretty easy to avoid, just remember that if its too good to be true then it probably is. I have never once seen a legitimate trust trader. These scams usually begin with the scammer saying that they will give away a pet to somebody who will trust trade with them.Īn example: "ABC TO TRUST TRADE!!! WHOEVER TRUSTS ME MOST WINS A FROST DRAGON!!!" Occasionally they wont even bother adding in a prize and just say "ABC TO TRUST TRADE!!!" Or at least that's how its supposed to go, but usually the scammer will leave after you give them an item. When you trust trade with someone, you give them a pet, and then they give it back to you. This is one of the most common forms of scamming in any trading based game. Here is a list of all the scams I have seen, how they work, how to identify them, and how to avoid them. However, I do like to go and pretend to participate in peoples scams to see what exactly they are doing, warn the people who are there, and to report them afterwards. My strategy of not getting scammed is to literally never trust anybody with anything. I have been playing adopt me for many years and also some similar trading based games, and I can proudly say that I have never been scammed once. I've been seeing a lot of posts about people who get scammed recently and I figured I would put in my input on scamming.
